'73-'74 TX750 Twins with Solex Mikuni Early Style BS38 Carbs
This is the rare TX750 Yamaha twin made in '73-'74 only. Popular to collectors, but not a super great road bike for individuals as they require maintenance and are prone to overheating. I think they are pretty cool, but I would not recommend buying one of you do not know what your in for.
Note: Starting in '74 Yamaha started year coding bikes in the last letter used in the name. You may see this code on your bikes paperwork or in a parts list or catalog. I leave this off as it is redundant if you are showing the year anyway. There is a chart below to find your year code.
Below is a pair of '74 TX750 341 E5 carbs. Both years will physically fit each other, however they have different internal tuning parts. You don't want to mix and match so they need to be Identified. This can be hard to do because the identification is acid etched into the bell housing at the top of the carb and can be hard, if not impossible to read. So a little detective work is necessary. This set was painted satin silver per customer, but I usually leave them in the factory natural surface. To see this look at the '70-'75 650 twins section.
