'87-'12 EX250 Ninja Keihin Side-draft CVK30 and CVK32 Carbs
This is the long lived EX250 Ninja. This bike had three generations in the US, but there are a few more world-wide. The first two years '86-'87 came with CVK32 and all years '88-'12 were CVK30's. They all look almost identical but do have tuning differences and even tuning difference between the two carbs on the same bike. Care must be taken to get these models correct as it is a VERY high rpm motor. Any improper tuning can not only make the bike run bad, but can fast lead to destruction if it ends up a lean issue. Keep in mind there is a huge amount of Chinese carbs sold cheap that are based on the CVK32 '86-'87 build which is problematic as this motor did not have the faster RPM of the later years. The 14k redline was the same, but the '86-'87 just got there much slower. Also it is not recommended to interchange F model carbs with J model carbs even though all three generations physically interchange.
